KBCB meets the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. at
the Vansant Food City meeting room. Citizens interested in litter
prevention programs and recycling activities are encouraged to

TREX, Inc. and Buchanan County Plastic Bag Recycling Program.
This program is being offered to elementary schools in Buchanan County
and TREX will be providing the winning schools with prizes.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
The Buchanan County Litter and Recycling, Buchanan County Department of
Sanitation and the Cumberland Plateau Regional Waste Authority will be
offering a one day free collection event for all citizens and
businesses on April 25, 2009. Materials that will be accepted
include old paint, thinners, pool chemicals, antifreeze, abestos,
herbicides, pesticides, propellents such as spray paint, etc. and oil.

Office Paper Recycling/Shredding Day.
The Buchanan County Litter and Recycling Office will
be conducting a free/one day office paper recycling/shredding day for
Buchanan County Businesses. Our event will be held at the Grundy
Shopping Plaza Parking Lot on April 24, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. To learn of the quantities and special requirements of the office

Tri County Cleanup events in Buchanan County sponsored by the
Cumberland Plateau Regional Waste Management Authority, Buchanan,
Dickenson and Russell Counties.
The Buchanan County Litter and Recycling Office will
be hosting it's final Tri County Illegal Dump Cleanup on Friday March
6, 2009. This event will mark the final regional dump cleanup and
will be conducted on Stinson Ridge Rd (Rt. 622) in the Council, VA area
of Buchanan County. For location and driving directions please

Adopt-A-Dump and the Community Cleanup Programs.
The Buchanan County Litter office is actively promoting citizens
groups, Boy and Girl Scouts to adopt one of the identify illegal dumps
or to conduct a community cleanup event.
